GREENSBORO, N.C. - September 7, 1999

Avery Dennison Worldwide Ticketing Services (WTS) announced today that they have collaborated with Oracle Corporation on an Internet-based supply chain management system for the retail and apparel industry. This unique information management system will allow all trading partners in the apparel value chain to electronically exchange data and information, such as purchase orders, acknowledgements and amendments, advanced shipping notices, packing list information, carton label (scanning and printing) and ticket information in a convenient and seamless fashion.

Overall, the application will help improve efficiency and reduce operation costs for both manufacturers and retailers. Furthermore, the solution cost effectively provides all trading partners large and small with access to this vital information. Avery Dennison will work with retailers, branded manufacturers and vendors to help them streamline their data and information flow with this new system. "We are excited about collaborating with Oracle and the opportunity to help our customers take data management to an improved level," stated Kim LaVorgna, Director of Sales And Marketing, who continued, "Avery Dennison Worldwide Ticketing Services' (WTS) Internet based product solution will streamline that segment of the supply chain where retailers, vendors, branded manufacturers and freight consolidators exchange information. We are going to help our customers improve their data and information flow, improve accuracy, increase throughput, increase the level of vendor compliance and improve their visibility of purchase order and shipping information."

"Oracle's 100% Internet-enabled Oracle Applications and Oracle8 RDBMS will enable Avery Dennison to quickly deploy a robust yet cost effective solution for its supply chain management system," said Jeff Johnson, senior practice director, Oracle Consulting. "Oracle works closely with companies like Avery Dennison that help their customers bring e-business to their business."
