JC Penney and L.L. Bean are currently beta testing a new web-based supply chain management solution called InfoChain Express™ that seamlessly connects all trading partners throughout the retail supply chain and enables trading partners to share accurate, accessible and reliable information.

Through user-defined business rules, InfoChain Express^® provides active management of the retail supply chain. The solution yields major cost savings associated with accuracy, reliability and timeliness, providing instant access to real-time information on the where, what, and when of goods being manufactured, packed, and shipped along the entire supply chain. The Scan-and-Pack feature of the system enables in-plant or service bureau printing for tickets and carton labels, allowing floor ready merchandise to be packed at the factory. By generating the ASN (advance shipping notice), InfoChain automates and speeds the important function of shipment notification.
